This is the third week of the Fall 2022 One Room Challenge. Thank you so much for visiting!
All the guest participant links can be found on the One Room Challenge blog! You can also visit the week 3 link up page directly here. This is an awesome event where everyone supports each other and has a great time working towards their own goals in these 8 weeks, so I hope you check out lots of participants!
The centerpiece (however off-center it sits in the room) of the gym has arrived! This was my first ever experience buying through Chairish, and I have to say I’m hooked. We had a super smooth delivery, and the finish and details of this armoire are even more gorgeous in person than in the listing photos from Century Boutique. Brief spoiler – there are pretty much only photos of the armoire in this post. But I promise it’s worth it.

The darker areas of the chevron designs tie closely in with the finish of the Murphy bed, while the lighter wood almost glows in contrast! There are a few tiny things I want to repair, but that’s really more to maintain the longevity of this piece than anything that impacts functionality or looks. One piece of functionality I do want to add, though, is a chain or some other stopper to keep the door from swinging into the windowsill. Once that’s installed, we’ll nudge the armoire over to the left a bit so it isn’t crowding the bed quite as much.

This week is also light on other photos because the majority of it was spent cleaning out this room. It has slowly accumulated our packages for the One Room Challenge, a desk and chair for our office, some additions for our front porch…. basically it was our miniature warehouse for a bit. So, most of that has been cleared away (and even stayed cleared away after these pictures were taken), which will help us get even more progress in the weeks to come.

The balance on both sides of the Murphy bed isn’t quite there yet, but I am already seeing parts of the mood board and my planning mockups come to life. The way all the different wood tones on the armoire tie in with the darker bed frame and make the new nightstand also more cohesive in the space makes me super happy. Plus, there are great geometric parallels between the two new pieces! And don’t worry, we’ll have a spotlight on that nightstand, plus some accompanying pieces to give it some weight in the space, in upcoming weeks.
